We pull the site from your host’s own backup, or from a WordPress export file you download yourself — pages, posts, images, menus, categories and tags come across together.
The new site runs on EmDash, and EmDash brings its own admin: a normal editor for your pages and posts, whether we host the site or it runs in your own Cloudflare account. With our hosting, the AI Helper works inside that admin too. No page-builder licence, no plugin subscriptions to keep renewing.
We move the domain and the HTTPS certificate for you. Same web address, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically — nothing to buy, nothing to remember. We recommend our hosting: one bill, nothing to run yourself, and the AI Helper is included. It can also live in your own Cloudflare account, or anywhere via the full export.

Every migration starts with a preview: a link we send you, not listed in search engines. The audit, the conversion and the preview are free, including the hosting we build to serve that preview. You pay for the conversion only after you approve it, and before we move your domain.

The same EmDash site, with its editor, in your own Cloudflare account, at the start or later. You pay the conversion fee, and after handoff you pay Cloudflare directly. The editable site needs Cloudflare’s Workers Paid plan, $5 a month, billed by Cloudflare. The AI Helper comes with our hosting, so it is not part of a site on your own account. Why: its allowance is paid for through our hosting plan.
You can leave whenever you like, two ways: your own Cloudflare account, or anywhere, via the full export: one download with a database snapshot, your uploads, your site settings, a WordPress export file, and a README for running it on a plain server. Moving from our hosting to your own account costs nothing more, and the conversion fee is never charged twice.
Why a site moves only after its conversion fee is paid: the conversion is the work we do. Once it is paid, the site is yours to take anywhere.
Every hosting plan includes the AI Helper, in your site’s admin. It answers questions about your pages and posts, and proposes changes to their text, titles and search-engine descriptions. Nothing it proposes reaches your live site until you approve it. It runs on Cloudflare Workers AI.
Why it has a monthly allowance: every answer costs real model time. The allowance keeps plans cheap for everyone and stops one site running up costs. Opening it never spends allowance; only the questions you ask do.
Rather not use the AI Helper? Turn the Helper off, at checkout or later in your admin. Then the Helper sends nothing from your site to a model. The price stays the same.
Honor-system discounts: before checkout, tick any that apply and take 10% off for each, up to 30% in all, on the conversion fee and on every month of a hosting plan. Yes. Your domain — the part visitors type in — doesn't change. We point it at our servers instead of WordPress's. From the visitor's side, everything looks the same except it loads faster.
Then you don't pay. The preview is built before any money changes hands. If something looks wrong, we fix it. If we can't fix it to your satisfaction, you walk away owing nothing.
Yes, on both paths. The new site runs on EmDash, which has its own admin: an editor for your pages, posts and images. With our hosting, the AI Helper sits in that admin too, and can propose small edits for you to approve.
We tell you before you pay. Some missing features have a workaround and some don't, and we'll say which.
No. We're independent. We're not selling you a WordPress upgrade — we're moving you off the WordPress platform entirely, onto Cloudflare's hosting network. The plugins we replace are independent products from independent companies.
Embark is a small US-based team. The hosting runs on Cloudflare's global network, which has data centers in 300+ cities, so your site is fast everywhere — not just where we are.
Email is separate from your website — we don't host it. If you currently use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for your "@yourorganization.org" email, that keeps working unchanged. If your email is hosted by your old web host, we'll help you move it to Google or Microsoft as part of the transition.
Yes. We copy any public website — Substack, Ghost, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, or a site you built yourself — or work from your platform’s own export: your pages, posts and images come across into a site you own. Posts behind a paywall come from that export, because they are not public. Your design is carried over automatically for most WordPress sites; from other platforms your preview starts in a clean standard design, which you see before you pay anything. A paid newsletter comes over too: its paywalled posts from that export, and its subscriber list as a file you import. No. For 30 days after your site goes live we fix anything that is not working the way your preview did, free, on either path. A person answers email at hello@embarkeasy.com on weekdays. With our hosting, the AI Helper in your admin answers questions about your site and proposes small changes, such as a typo or a page title; nothing it proposes goes live until you approve it. It has a monthly allowance that comes with your plan, and you can turn it off.

Path A puts your site, with its editor, in your own Cloudflare account, at the start or later, and after that you pay Cloudflare directly.
